Matrox Announces BVE Lineup

News Image
Matrox has announced a number of products it will showcase at BVE 2016. The lineup includes streaming and recording appliances, an HD-SDI scan converter, a multi-camera recording app, and OEM products.

Matrox Monarch HD – H.264 Encoder
This takes an HDMI input from a source, such as a camera or switcher, and generates an H.264-encoded stream compliant with RTSP or RTMP protocol. While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, it simultaneously records a high-quality MP4 or MOV file to an SD card, a USB drive, or a network-mapped drive.

Matrox Monarch HDX – Dual-channel H.264 Encoder
The encoder features 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs with frame synchronisation to compensate for unstable sources. It has two independent H.264 encoders which provide additional flexibility to stream to two different locations, or record files to two destinations. A further, dedicated H.264 encoder provides remote preview of the input. New features include the implementation of Ross Video's DashBoard Connect protocols, as well as the introduction of Monarch HDX Dev Tools. This enables network- or cloud-based video management platform developers and A/V integrators to control Monarch HDX from within their own custom environments.

VS4Recorder Pro – Multi-camera Recording App
This has been designed for use with Matrox VS4 quad HD capture cards. Each system frame-accurately captures up to four video and audio inputs to create files for use with editing apps from Adobe, Apple and Avid, as well as for archiving. H.264 is provided in either MOV or MP4 wrappers, while AVI files can be created using the Matrox MPEG 2 I-Frame codec. MOV QuickTime files can be created using DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50, and DVCPRO HD. The VS4Recorder Pro also functions as a multiviewer, offering high video quality when monitoring interlaced sources on progressive computer monitors. VS4-based systems are ideal for multi-camera live production streaming with Telestream Wirecast for Windows.

Matrox DSX Developer Products
A range of multi-channel SD/HD/4K I/O cards, including the new X.mio3 and DSX LE4 families, plus the high-density M264 family of H.264 encoding cards with feature-rich Windows and Linux SDKs and tools for quick app development. Matrox technology allows OEMs to create advanced broadcast graphics systems, video servers, channel-in-a-box equipment, contribution and distribution encoders, and non-linear editing systems that provide 24/7 reliability in demanding environments. Premium hardware features include multiple video compositors and high-quality, motion-adaptive de-interlacers and up/down/cross converters. An expanding array of codecs – DVCPRO HD, MPEG-2, XDCAM HD AVC-Intra, H.264, Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD, PitchBlue, and more – in addition to extensive file format support – GXF, MXF, MOV, AVI, MPG, MP4, and more – meet evolving needs.

Broadcast Video Expo 2016 (BVE 2016) takes place at Excel London, 23 – 25 February.
