On-Air Systems announce On-Air Robotics

Extending the power of On-Air VANity into a glass-to-glass programme production system, On-Air Systems have introduced a robotic camera control system.
On-Air Robotics comprises a dedicated camera interface unit, remote control unit, central processing unit and broadcast-quality Panasonic AW-E600 camera with SDI interface and AW-PH300 motorised pan/tilt head.
Designed for use in automated television studios, parliamentary television facilities, entertainment and sport venues, On-Air Robotics is an open platform providing a high level of studio control from a single user-friendly control surface. When integrated into On-Air Studio, On-Air Robotics allows a small operational staff to control an entire broadcast channel from programme origination right through to transmission.
On-Air Robotics is centred on a dedicated hardware multicamera control unit with integral tally, video mixer and router control, and support for up to 64 channels of pan/tilt, zoom and focus. The control surface includes programmable joysticks and is designed for full integration with On-Air TxCG transmission graphics system. Control connections are RS-232 to pan/tilt (12 V DC), RS-232 to camera and to video/audio routing switcher, RS-422 to video/audio mixer, RS-485 to each of 64 camera interface units and RS-485 tally.
