IBM showcase media solutions at NAB 2002

IBM will be showcasing technologies and media solutions that allow broadcasters to realise cost savings and prepare new revenue streams at NAB, booth L20151, in the New South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Underlying all of IBM's technologies is the IBM Digital Media Factory - an open technology framework comprised of IBM e-business infrastructure that can help all types of companies manage, store, protect and distribute digital video, audio and images. The Digital Media Factory is based on IBM's core e-business assets and methodologies, and employs open standards, a tested infrastructure and modular components: servers, software, networking, services.
Also on view will be digital asset management technology, a comprehensive media asset management solution, implemented by Ogilvy and Mather to help streamline operations and lower costs. IBM will also be demonstrating digital archive technology as implemented by CNN to transform news processes, streamlining broadcast operations and preserving valuable archives
A company spokesperson said: "Now more than ever, broadcasters and media and entertainment companies are looking for innovative solutions and new technologies that deliver real efficiencies and real rates of return."
In 2001, IBM posted a net income of $7.7 billion from total revenues of £85.9 billion and employed 319,876 people worldwide.
