Chilean TV choose Hamlet for signal measurement contract

As part of a major upgrade programme, Television Nacional de Chile has chosen Hamlet to source signal measurement equipment.
The Chilean broadcaster said that the decision rested on Hamlet's innovative design that allows digital devices to also measure analogue signals.
The original tender – hotly competed by a number of leading test and measurement manufacturers – called for seven analogue devices and one digital. Hamlet's Chilean agent, Mediaserver, proposed the use of the MS601A – a comprehensive and cost-effective digital device with integral LCD display. An analogue input option is available for the MS601A, providing digital accuracy and a natural migration path as the broadcaster moves towards an all-digital environment.
According to Pedro Garcia of Mediaserver: "TVN's engineering department told us that the Hamlet equipment far exceeds their technical requirements, allows them to be ready when analogue equipment is switched to digital, and best of all it was well within their budget."
Formally established in 1986, Hamlet Video International Limited is dedicated to the design, manufacture and supply of innovative, high-quality, cost-effective equipment to the video and broadcast industry worldwide, with concentration currently on both digital and analogue video and audio test and measurement equipment.
Hamlet manufactures a complete range of waveform/vectorscopes, including rack-mounted stand-alone PCB and portable units for studio, EFP/ENG, editing, telecine, duplication and desktop video applications.
Hamlet test measurement devices are designed without dedicated cathode ray tubes (CRTs) and do not suffer from the problems associated with CRT devices. Hamlet units digitally generate the traces along with the associated graticules for display on any standard monitor either digital or analogue.
