Cinedeck Showcases 4K Fire-Power At NAB

News Image
Cinedeck LLC, pioneering developer of capture systems for digital cinema, broadcast and post production, will showcase the new fire-power of its MX and RX record, ingest and transcode platforms in support of 4K and JPEG2000 production, plus the very latest international HD broadcast delivery standards, during NAB 2014, Las Vegas, at the Cinedeck booth #SL14317.
On debut will be the new Cinedeck 4K and JPEG2000 workflow, and the latest v5 software release for the Cinedeck RX3G and MX recorders. These latest advances underscore Cinedeck's hallmark of keeping editorial processes simple and efficient by simultaneously capturing and creating edit-ready deliverables. With Cinedecks in the workflow, 4K and broadcast content creators can eradicate time-consuming and costly transcoding processes, and start post-production processes faster than ever.
• Cinedeck makes 4K debut at NAB 2014:
Cinedeck will show MX recording a 4K YUV10 input from sources like the Sony F55 camera, while simultaneously creating edit-ready HD Master and Proxy deliverables, plus streamable H.264 files. Cinedeck is also announcing the MX4K which features the same 30fps recording and file deliverables from two 4K or Ultra HD sources. Cinedeck MXs also down-convert the 4K camera feeds in realtime for on-set HD monitoring. The 4K, HD Master and Proxy files are all recorded to removable SSD drives, with edit-ready deliverables simultaneously written to SAN for immediate access, and can be encoded to the full gamut of available codec and wrapper profiles. Users can apply a variety of industry-standard or custom Look-Up-Tables (LUTs) to the Proxy, H.264, on-board display and HD outputs.
• Cinedeck will also show the latest developments in JPEG2000 workflow. Cinedeck MX, MX4K and RX3G support for additional digital cameras, framerates, codecs and wrappers will be ready for shipping in the coming months.
• Cinedeck v5 supports latest global broadcast standards:
Cinedeck's v5 latest release supports new codec/wrapper specifications advanced by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) in the US, and the UK’s Digital Production Partnership (DPP), and now adopted by broadcasters worldwide. These include the AS10/AS11-compliant acquisition and delivery standards – XDCAM HD Op1A, AVC Intra-100 Op1A and D-10 (IMX) Op1A.
Leveraged by Cinedeck RX3G and MX, these latest standards remove ambiguities during production and delivery processes, by including editorial and technical metadata, and ensure a consistent set of information for the processing, review and scheduling of programs. Additionally, project set-up and management has been further streamlined to speed preparations for multi-cam productions. Cinedeck v5 software release also includes enhanced Edit While Record, EDL and H.264 support features.
