Adams steps down from Ascent Media
Ray Adams, the highly respected and popular member of London's post-production community, recently retired from the position of Director of Group Sales ETV for Ascent Media Group UK.
After a career spanning over 40 years, Adams had become an influential and integral part of London's post-production scene.
Working initially as Trainee Film Technician at Colour Film & Video Services, Adams worked at Universal Film & Video as Deputy Laboratory Manager, Technicolor Ltd as a Sales Manager before becoming Managing Director of Universal Film and Video in 1987.
In 1990, Adams was made Managing & Sales Director of Soho Images before becoming Managing Director of West One in 1998.
In 2001, he became Managing Director of 4MC's new Entertainment Television Division and was instrumental in the consolidation of ETV businesses for Ascent Media, before being made Director of Group Sales ETV in 2002.
Adams said: "My time in the industry has been great and I don't regret any part of it. The challenge of Ascent Media's Entertainment TV business has been rewarding but my house in France is calling. I have made some good friends in the industry and I wish everyone the very best for the future."
Simon Kay, Managing Director, Ascent Media Management Services, UK praised Mr Adams, saying: "Ray has been a tremendous help to everyone in consolidating our Entertainment TV businesses and I am sad to lose him at a time when our Group has so much forward momentum.
"His efforts and dedication while working for Ascent Media are very much appreciated and we all wish him well in his retirement."
