Harris adds desktop editing capabilities to Media Browser
Harris Corporation have announced the update of their Media Browser solution allowing users to perform simple timeline edits of any material in the shadow server with the same ease and functionality of full-resolution editing systems.
The host ADC-100 automation system maintains the shadow server as a clone of the online material, thus giving the user access to all archived materials.
Media Edit also allows work to start on an edit while recording is still taking place. This makes it ideal for sports productions, where a simple highlights package can be compiled from an automation or news workstation.
The Media Edit software can be embedded in news applications such as ENPS, as well as in Harris automation workstations. A voiceover can be recorded directly into the PC without the use of external tools.
Media Edit incorporates an extensive range of tools, including drag-and-drop editing, track sliding and keyboard shortcuts. The resultant EDL can be exported to any high-resolution editing system, or it can be exported direct to the ADC-100 automation system for immediate transmission. This eliminates the need to conform the edit, saving valuable time in the production of high-pressure news and sports programming.
The Media Browser was one of the first industry tools to feature shadow browsing with the addition of a powerful new offline editing tool specifically designed for news and sports applications.
Harris Corporation is an international communications equipment company focused on providing product, system and service solutions for commercial and government customers.
The company's five operating divisions serve markets for microwave, broadcast, network support, tactical radio, and government systems.
