New appointment at TC Soho

Media services company TC Soho have announced the appointment of Roger Boorman as Technical Director.
Boorman, a veteran television facilities engineer, has held senior posts in both postproduction and media services companies, including TVi and 8811. Most recently, he served in a freelance capacity at Wembley-based TC Video, TC Soho’s parent company.
Boorman worked alongside Phil Crawley of root6, which was contracted to design and build TC Soho’s all-new Poland Street facility, encompassing dubbing, duplication and Alchemist standards conversion - alongside DVD authoring and web streaming.
Above all, according to Boorman, the object was to create a technically efficient, yet pleasant working environment. He said: “The new 22-bay machine room owes a great deal to operator input. Video and signal monitoring, for example, are distributed throughout the facility rather than being crammed into a single bay - and details like lighting and décor have been well thought out. A lot of facilities spend the majority of their resources making reception look good, we’ve extended this to the areas where the real work gets done.”
