Bond Stuntman To Wow At St Albans Film Fest

James Bond fans will have an extra reason to visit the first ever St Albans Film Festival this year, as the organisers have announced a special appearance from stunt man Roy Scammell, who worked with Roger Moore in The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only and Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye.
Mr Scammell will be hosting a talk and showing some clips from his movie career at the first ever St Albans Film Festival, which takes place from March 8-10.
The legendary stuntman also doubled as Michael Caine in The Italian Job and drove the iconic red mini through the streets of Turin for the legendary chase scenes in the film.
He also appeared as Frank Sinatra's double in a parachute jump in the Negev desert for the film Cast a Giant Shadow, which also starred Kirk Douglas, and was the stunt double for Burt Lancaster in the 1956 blockbuster Trapeze.
Other highlights from Mr Scammell's career include the Alien movies, Flash Gordon, Doctor Who from 1971 to 1987 and being Malcolm McDowell’s stunt double on A Clockwork Orange.
As well as a short-film competition with six categories, the city's first film festival has a packed programme of events.
Film Festival director Leoni Kibbey said: "Having Roy giving a talk at the festival is such a coup. His experience as a stunt man on many hit movies is unrivalled, and he truly is a legend in every sense of the word."
