Libec Launches 4K Support System

Libec's flagship tripod and pedestal range will be making its first appearance at London’s BVE 2013.
The new RSPlus series is designed to offer uncompromising performance, even with the largest of the new breed of 4K cameras. The new products deliver balance, stability and silky smooth functioning, even under the considerable weight of a fully-rigged camera.
When equipped with battery packs, monitors, recorders and lenses, models such as the Arri Alexa, Red Epic, Canon EOS C500 and Sony F65 can be heavy and difficult to stabilize. With image quality of paramount importance, it is vital however, that the camera support can provide smooth, reliable performance, even under a full load. Many existing tripod systems simply cannot deliver the fluid and natural motion producers require.
“Previously, directors of photography had to choose between an often unaffordable high performing support system and a low-cost tripod that just wasn’t up the task. With RSPlus, Libec has developed two models which meet a real need by combining all that is best about Japanese manufacturing: class leading reliability and genuinely useful innovation. These tripods are big news for directors of photography working in film and TV.” Commented Nick Allen-Miles, MD of Ianiro Europe, Libec’s regional distributor.
The flagship of the new RSPLUS tripod and pedestal range is the RHP85 with a 25kg load capacity. To accommodate even the most ambitious zoom lens, it comes equipped with a long sliding plate as well as a standard plate. Its stable mate, RHP75, is the ideal tripod head for full-sized ENG shoulder cameras and lighter weight digital film systems with a maximum 17kg payload and 30% lighter torque than RHP85. Both are equipped with a 100mm ball head (RHP75/85).
New to the RSPLUS range is a "balance stabilizer mechanism" and "smooth balancing system" to help achieve perfect pan and tilt counterbalance - simple and quickly. These technologies prevent even the slightest wobble on the image caused by the dreaded spring-back effect. Adjustments to the 7-step pan / tilt drag system are effortless, enabling the user to maintain perfect equipment balance, with weights of up-to 20kg on the RSP850 model (14kg with the RSP750).
For fast set up and use, the camera plate is attachable and detachable with just one touch while the flight-ready carry case is equipped with wheels for easy transportation.
Both models will be on the Ianiro stand at BVE 2013 and will be available for purchase from resellers throughout Europe.
