Electronics Visuals 'adapt' to HD

As the European broadcasting industry increases its activity within the HD environments, post houses and Telecine suites are having to upgrade to HD or risk losing their customers to the competition.
To complement the ‘adapt’ range of digital/analogue converters and to cater for the increasing requirement of HD material, Electronic Visuals (EV) are releasing a full range of cost-effective, broadcast HD/SDI and analogue converter products.
Consistent with the original ‘adapt’ converter range, the HD line is just as small and portable, and uses the 5V power supply.
First in the running order is the EVD10A-HD, which offers 10-bit HD analogue to HD-SDI. Then the partner to the EVD10A-HD, is the EVD10C-HD which offers 10-bit HD-SDI to HD analogue. The EVD10M-HD allows monitoring of HD material on standard definition picture monitors and the EVD10M-HD/SDI offers HD-SDI conversion to standard serial digital, component or composite video.
EV have also introduced a HD-SDI distribution amplifier which offers x4 separately buffered HD-SDI outputs.
Panasonic Broadcast and the BBC Natural History unit from Bristol have been successfully using the EVD10C-HD for some time.
All the above models will be available by mid June and are cost-effective solutions to interface HD with standard or digital video.
