TC Electronic IBC Preview

TC Electronic and Dynaudio Professional will share a booth with its ‘Certified Premium HD Dealer’ in the UK, HHB, at IBC 2012.
Products will be on display at Hall 8, Booth D56, including LM2 Stereo Loudness Meter, D22 Digital Broadcast Delay, DB2 Loudness Correction Processor, DBMax 5-band Level Maximizer, P2 Level Pilot, DB4 MKII TV Transmission Processor, TM7/TM9 Touch Monitors, BMC-2 Monitor Controller, LM6 & LM2 Native Loudness Meter Plug-ins and the signal-processing flagship System 6000 MKII. Furthermore, BM5A Compact, BM6A MKII and DBM50 monitors from Dynaudio Professional will also be exhibited at the booth.
Recently, DB4/DB8 (original versions as well as MKII) and System 6000 MKII were updated, and one of the highlights is the ALC6 algorithm that offers pristine ITU BS.1770-2-based loudness correction and true peak limiting. This breakthrough loudness processor may now be downloaded free of charge by the numerous networks around the world operating DB4 or DB8. In short, ALC6 combines five industry-first features with low latency and high resolution, thereby offering the most audio friendly and advanced loudness adjustment solution available.
Right before the London Olympics, the same pristine loudness adjustment came within reach for OB, live and production studios: ALC6, plus another superior loudness tool, the DMix processor, together form the ‘Live Aid’ license available for all System 6000 MKII users.
TC Electronic and Loudness
Loudness in broadcast has been a much-debated topic in recent years and with new legislative initiatives on broadcasted loudness in an increasing number of countries, the need for innovative solutions is greater than ever. TC Electronic has been pioneering the field of digital signal processing for decades, so strengthening the focus on loudness research and developing new solutions for metering and controlling loudness was a natural next step. Once again TC Electronic became a first mover and took part in research leading to key elements of today’s international broadcast standards, as well as contributing to the open standards that strive to solve the loudness issue in broadcast by donating technology and algorithms.
TC Electronic and HHB
Last year, at IBC 2011, TC Electronic appointed HHB ‘Certified Premium HD Dealer’ in the UK and thereby elevated their business partnership to a whole new level, which also includes a joined effort with regard to trade shows like IBC.
