Film Score Composer Produces Pop Music

An established and acclaimed presence in the world of film and television scoring, Jennie Muskett has emerged in the field of popular music being a lead producer for the forthcoming release by multiplatinum artist Rumer.
Boys Don’t Cry will be released on the 28th May 2012. The album is an evocative collection of more obscure songs by male singer songwriters of the 70’s.
Jennie teamed up with Rumer and a female engineer to create the unique and exiting new record, not at all discouraged by the fact that female producers – let alone an album made by a trio of women - are somewhat of an anomaly in the music industry.
Beginning her career writing soundtracks for nature documentaries, Jennie has won 2 Emmys has two BAFTA nominations for work ranging from scoring Hollywood blockbusters such as the Julia Styles hit The Prince and Me to penning the ubiquitous theme and soundtrack to BBC drama Spooks.
The lead single P.F. Sloan will be released on 21st May, and is a shining example of Jennie’s masterful production. Originally written and performed by Jimmy Webb – who incidentally went into the world film-scoring after his songwriting career – the song is a tribute to P.F. Sloan, the man responsible for penning the California Dreaming riff for The Mama’s and Papas.
It is bound to be a busy summer for Jennie. After taking a sabbatical from her film scoring in order to concentrate her efforts on producing for Rumer, she is currently back in her studio, working on her first solo-produced album for which she wrote and produced all of the songs.
