ITV Enter Talks With NetFlix
ITV is reported to be in advanced discussions with Netflix about an output deal for video streaming service’s UK and Ireland launch.
The deal would give Netflix access to ITV’s archive of shows as it boosts its content for the subscription service. Last week it announced a movie output deal with MGM.
Netflix is also said to be talking with Channel 4 and has already sealed deals with Lionsgate, and Momentum Pictures.
ITV’s proposed deal is understood to only include archive programming, – ITV wants to go on building ITV Player with new content and 30 day catch-up. Meanwhile the broadcaster has talked about a micropayment system for the ITV Player in2012.
