Matrox announce RT.X10 real-time video editing card

Matrox Video Products Group have announced Matrox RT.X10, a video editing card that lets PC users quickly and easily create home movies, business videos, and school projects they can be proud of, even if they are new to video.
Based on Matrox's new "Power of X" architecture, RT.X10 leverages scalable CPU power with the explosive performance of dedicated hardware to give users superior realtime editing functionality at a very affordable price.
"Realtime editing with Matrox RT.X10 gives even novice users unparalleled creative freedom to experiment. Everything happens instantly, without rendering, so it's easy to quickly try out any number of effects and combinations of effects to get exactly the desired look," said Patrick Beaulieu, Matrox senior product specialist. "We've included a variety of tools in Matrox RT.X10 that help users get professional results fast. Realtime colour correction makes all shots picture perfect. Realtime broadcast-quality titles and customisable 3D effects such as page curls, organic wipes, and picture-in picture give videos a high-end TV look. Realtime adjustable slow and fast motion let users create dramatic or humorous effects. Multi-track audio mixing makes it easy to add soundtracks and music."
Matrox RT.X10 lets users work with both analogue and DV camcorders and VCRs. The Matrox RT.X10 bundle includes a state-of-the-art video capture and realtime 3D effects card with a 1394 port, an analogue audio/video breakout cable, the full version of Adobe Premiere editing software, and Sonic Solutions DVDit! LE DVD authoring software. Priced at £399 ex VAT Matrox RT.X10 delivers full-quality, full-resolution, no compromise realtime editing at a price that is comparable, or even lower, than many software-only realtime editing applications, including Adobe Premiere itself. Matrox RT.X10 will be available from authorised resellers worldwide in August 2002.
