Argosy Lights Up BVE With Infrastructure Products

Argosy, a leading UK-based international supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will debut its latest range of high-definition (HD) broadcast infrastructure components at BVE Expo in London's Earl's Court (Stand No. 134 February 15 - 17, 2011). Included in the line-up at the show will be the latest in rack lighting, Argosy branded video, audio, F-type, CAT6A termination panels and coaxial cables. In addition Argosy will highlight its fibre management solutions and the latest Miranda NVISION Compact routers.
Showcasing for the first time at BVE 2011 will be the 1Ru front-loading rack mount light units from Argosy. This unit uses cool white LED technology to provide clear and powerful illumination to a loaded rack. Units are switched with a fixed canopy that efficiently directs light to the floor and into the rack face whilst remaining flush with the rack's profile.
This lighting solution offers much lower power consumption, far less heat generation and a longer lasting 'bulb life' - making it more energy efficient and environmentally friendly. This in turn equates to lower overall operating costs for broadcasters. These lighting units are ideal for use in 'lights out facilities' where service engineers need to operate on individual racks without lighting up a whole room.
Argosy's termination panels, used to connect equipment together between two racks, will also be on show at BVE. These panels are populated with isolated through bulkhead mounting BNCs. They are manufactured from extruded aluminium and supplied complete with designation strip and lacing bar for cable strain relief. As a means of ensuring consistency across the range, these termination panels are designed in the same colour and style which also permits the identification labelling templates to be universal across all panels. The XLR version of the panel allows for rear-mounted connectors and tie bars.
BVE will also see the first showing in the UK by Argosy of the latest addition to the Miranda NVISION Compact routers - the smallest 8x8 router matrix. Ideally suited to utility routing applications where space is at a premium, the Miranda NVISION Compact routers are available in a comprehensive array of formats, including 3Gb/s, HD, SD, AES, analogue video and analogue audio, as well as machine control. These routers are available in sizes from 8x8 up to 32x32 and are housed in 1RU or 2RU frames for maximum space efficiency.
Mike Purnell, Director of Argosy, said: "BVE is one of the key exhibitions on our annual calendar and it allows us to promote our latest products to a focused UK audience. The UK post production and production community play a key role in our success and we look forward to kicking off activities for 2011 with a bang at BVE in February."
Argosy will also demonstrate some of its latest fibre management tools including the SDI fibre video converters, patch panels and the company's BendBright-XS ruggedised fibre optic cables. In addition, visitors will see a range of HD infrastructure products including a collection of video, audio and power cables, connectors, rack systems as well as an array of video accessories.
