Expansion TV choose Quartz master control switcher

Expansion TV, Spain's prime financial news channel, has chosen a Quartz QMC master control switcher.
The QMC will centralise all of the studio's equipment and simplify both automated and manual playout operation. The new television channel's QMC is configured with four key layers and includes the internal logo store option. Each key layer is user-configurable and can be controlled independently under automation or manual control. The QMC has built in signal feed and power protection, features which are vital when maintaining live feeds; these features and the ease of operation were important considerations in Expansion TV's decision to choose the Quartz QMC.
Expansion TV's playout is predominantly live with studio interviews and external signals fed from various regional locations. The automation system is used to control launch spots, weekend programmes and overnight broadcasts.
Continuous on-screen stock-market updates are central to Expansion TV's requirement for master control with key inputs fed from a Quartz 16x4 SDI router. The QMC is integrated with third-party equipment and is used for upstream routing. These matrices switch the sources for round-the- clock continuous playout from the QMC.
Quartz Spanish distributor Promovisa was awarded the installation contract earlier this year by Gruppo Recoletos, owner of Expansion TV.
