Lonely Place To Die Shoots In Scotland

A Lonely Place to Die marks the return of Director Julian Gilbey with a taught thriller starring Golden Globe nominee Melissa George, star of 30 Days of Night, Triangle and Grey's Anatomy.
Ed Speleers (Eragon), Karel Roden (RocknRolla, The Bourne Supremacy, Hellboy, Blade II) Eamonn Walker (Unbreakable, Lord of War, Tears of the Sun, Oz), and Sean Harris (Harry Brown, BBC’s Five Daughters, Creep, 24 Hour Party People) are also cast.
The production is set to start shooting in and around the village of Dingwall, North of Inverness, Scotland from 16th May until 30th June. The film is expected to go into post-production by July 2010 and be released in early 2011. Ascot Elite have already acquired rights for its release in Germany.
A Lonely Place to Die is a thriller based around a group of climbers who make a grim discovery of an eight year old girl buried alive high up in the mountains. Terrified, de-hydrated and unable to speak a word of English, she is the victim of an elaborate kidnapping plot. The climbers set out to rescue her with horrifying repercussions.
Producer Toby Richards commented: "Everyone at Carnaby International and Eigerwand Media are thrilled to present Julian Gilbey's latest film. This will mark a great moment in his career and he has already shown immense talent with his previous films, Rise of the Footsoldier and Rollin' with the Nines. Rise of the Footsoldier is now one of the top ten selling British Independent DVD's of all time. We're very excited about the shoot and working with our unbelievably talented cast and crew."
Director, Julian Gilbey added: "I am so pleased to be coming back to Scotland. I have fond memories as a student studying film in Edinburgh. For years I have wanted to capture the raw wilderness and dramatic landscape that can be found in the highlands and I am finally fulfilling that dream."
