Quantel Sets Up Temporary Las Vegas Office!

NAB 2010 was a very successful show for Quantel with lots of interest generated; they even sold one of the products launched at the show right from the stand - the brand new Stereo3D broadcast system - to a major broadcaster. The show came on the back of the first half of this financial year which saw them generate as much profit in just six months as they did in the whole of last year.
At the NAB show 25 staff from the UK came together with staff from the US and other overseas operations, which made a contingent of around 50 in all.
On the last day of the show the Quantel team began to understand the extent of the disruption the ash cloud was causing, and it soon became clear that it wasn't going to disperse any time soon. As a result, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ray Cross, and Sales and Marketing Director, Martin Mulligan, quickly put a plan together to keep business going and to follow up on the huge amount of interest generated at the show
On Monday they set up an 'office' in Las Vegas in the Signature Tower at the MGM Grand Hotel. The photo shows a mix of sales, marketing and support guys from the UK who were all at the show and are now stranded, with CEO Ray Cross seated near right. The rest of the UK contingent are visiting customers and prospects in LA, San Francisco, Nashville, Australia, India, Canada and Malaysia.
"All in all we’re making the best of the situation and ensuring that all our normal operations continue uninterrupted," said Ray Cross. "We’ve got a great team here at Quantel, and the commitment shown by everyone both here and in the UK to ensure that it’s business as usual and their positive approach to overcoming potential problems is fantastic."
At the moment the earliest flights back to the UK are the 26/27th. The Quantel team continue to keep their fingers crossed, but until then it's business as usual...
