One Commissions ITV Studios 'The Door'

ITV1 primetime commission of new entertainment format The Door has been revealed.
Created by the talented team behind the international hit formats I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Hell’s Kitchen, ITV Studios' The Door will premiere on ITV1 this spring as a two-night television event hosted by Chris Tarrant and Amanda Holden.
The show will star six brave celebrities who will put their nerves on the line and take on a challenge of enduring a multitude of extreme tests, all delicately designed to instil them with gut wrenching fear, as they discover what lies behind The Door.
After venturing through the door, the anxious contestants will undertake challenges that will bring them face to face with their fears and assault all their senses. They will battle claustrophobic spaces, suffer shocks and have to cope with a relentless barrage of disorientating games as they battle it out to be the last star standing and claim a cash prize for their chosen charity.

We have created a world with just one thing in mind - frightening the living daylights out of our cast. It is in turn scary, surreal and laugh out loud funny."
Remy Blumenfeld, Director of Formats at ITV Studios added: "The Door offers up a chilling cocktail of spectacle and celebrity, and promises a splash of magic and illusion. We’ll be premiering the format to our worldwide partners at MIPTV 2010. This will be one of our best ever MIPTV format line-ups, which will include the 2009 break-out format success Four Weddings and the long-running Come Dine with Me, which recently celebrated its one thousandth episode in Germany and twentieth territory commission in Europe."
The Door was commissioned by Elaine Bedell, Director of Entertainment & Comedy and Layla Smith, Controller of Entertainment at ITV, who said: "The Door is a tantalising idea – it will be scary, yet full of fun, an entertainment idea at its heart."
The format was created by Natalka Znak, Controller of Factual Entertainment, Richard Cowles, Head of Factual Entertainment and Beth Hart and Deputy Head of Factual Entertainment at ITV Studios (UK), who are the team behind the worldwide television successes I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Hell’s Kitchen.
