Aspera Appoints Tyrell CCT As Partner

A creative technology solutions provider for the broadcast and post-production industry, have announced a partnership with high-speed file transfer expert Aspera, to expand the company’s reach, expertise and technical capabilities in the UK and Ireland.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tyrell CCT will have responsibility for the sale and support of a complete portfolio of innovative software solutions based on Aspera’s fasp transport technology, which has become a market leader for the high-speed movement of large files over wide area networks.
Leading media companies around the world, rely on Aspera to reduce their production cycles and deliver their best content, faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Having previously worked on joint projects, Aspera selected Tyrell CCT following an extensive review process.
Tyrell CCT specified and implemented Aspera’s Connect Server as the transfer tool of choice for delivery of user generated content on the BBC’s Springwatch programme last year. The Aspera solution enabled the BBC to quickly and securely deliver content from their Norfolk site for assimilation into their tapeless post production workflow at BBC London. The Aspera Connect Server offers easy, secure and managed file delivery at maximum speed utilising Aspera’s high-performance fasp digital transport and data encryption technologies.
The market need for a flexible, next generation file transfer technology is pervasive and exploding as file sizes increase, network capacities grow, and users increasingly exchange data and media. As an all-software platform deployable on any standard computing device, Aspera technology is capable of filling the next-generation need, providing optimal data transfer in any application, over any internet network, from consumer broadband to gigabit core.
"The partnership is a natural progression from our earlier work with Aspera and we are delighted to add such a high performance file transfer solution to our portfolio," commented Bryan Malone, Managing Director, Tyrell CCT,"We look forward to helping our mutual customers overcome the challenges they face in developing file-based workflows, by combining Aspera’s proven transport technology and Tyrell CCT’s experience and knowledge of the UK and Irish broadcast and post production markets."
"Our collaboration on Springwatch gave us a glimpse of the opportunities the partnership could offer to both companies. We’re confident Tyrell CCT will bring us on-the-ground technical expertise and a much more varied customer base," explained Bruce Brewer, European Sales Director of Aspera. "We couldn’t have asked to partner with a company who complements our product ecosystem better, and I have high hopes for the benefits this partnership will bring."
Tyrell CCT will represent Aspera at Stand K24, Broadcast Video Expo, 16-18, February and will showcase the company’s Enterprise Console with Isilon’s cluster integration.
