DRG Teams With Mandrill For A&E Launch

A London-based content distributor has announced its first collaboration with UK-based independent production company Mandrill Television.
Digital Rights Group (DRG) have acquired the international distribution rights and concluding new sales for its compelling primetime factual entertainment series The Real A&E.
Following the life and death dramas of a busy Accident and Emergency department and air ambulance crew, The Real A&E will be distributed internationally through iD Distribution, DRG's specialist lifestyle, entertainment and reality division.
DRG has already concluded deals for the series in Scandinavia with TV2 Denmark and Kanal 5 Sweden and is in negotiation with other international broadcasters.
With extensive access to department staff and air ambulance helicopter crew, The Real A&E reveals inspirational and compelling life-saving stories as the team deal with a wide range of accidents and critical injuries - from a motorcyclist trapped under a three tonne truck and accidental shootings with air rifles to a head on aircraft collision and stunts gone badly wrong.
The 30 x 30’ series, available in high definition, is produced by Mandrill Television for Sky Channel and is DRG’s first acquisition from the company.
Launched in 1994, Mandrill Television specialises in making long-running documentary and lifestyle television series. The company supplies numerous series to broadcasters such as ITV, BBC, Discovery Europe and UKTV.
Caroline Percy, Acquisitions Manager for iD Distribution, commented: "The Real A&E is perfect high-volume, fast-paced content – offering a combination of drama, reality and entertainment that is highly absorbing and relevant to international audiences. Mandrill Television has a fantastic pedigree in producing effective content for a range of broadcasters and we are delighted to showcase this series to the international marketplace."
Chris Wise, Managing Director at Mandrill Television, concluded: "We are hugely pleased with the sales already generated for the series and are looking forward to working with the team at iD Distribution on further deals.
"The 30 episodes are packed with entertaining characters and dramatic real-life storylines, and we are confident that with iD’s expertise the series will prove a huge success internationally."
