Global Vision chooses da Vinci's revival

Quebec and New York-based postproduction firm Global Vision has integrated the da Vinci revival restoration system into its hybrid film/data workflow for complete restoration, postproduction, and distribution services.
Among the films being restored by Global Vision with revival are works of director John Woo and actors Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, and Jet Li.

revival from da Vinci Systems is a complete motion picture image restoration system designed for everything from heavy-duty restoration to remastering projects. Global Vision's specialists use a Thomson Spirit in conjunction with da Vinci's revival to eliminate the effects of dust, blur, scratches, and splicing errors and digitally restore the picture in the appropriate format for distribution.
Source material can range from 35mm negatives, interpositives, internegatives, and prints to video masters.
revival provides the necessary tools to restore or repair film efficiently to ensure the final product is nothing less than pristine. An automatic mode analyses and processes images without operator assistance, while revival's interactive mode and toolset enable additional fine-detail restoration on a frame-by-frame basis. The system can be resolution independent and handles data and HDTV as easily as SDTV material.
