South Asia's new premier sports channel selects Quartz

Taj Television of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates have installed a Quartz routing and master control solution, to enhance their new premier sports channel, Ten Sports.
The installation includes a four-channel Quartz QMC Master Control Switcher, a Q128 serial video router, a Q6400 port-to-port router for up to 64 devices and an SC-1000 system controller with a variety of control panels.
Operating from the prestigious Dubai Media City Free Zone, the Ten Sports channel relies on two dual channel QMCs from Quartz to create a dynamic transmission system for live playout. In order to maintain the integrity of live feeds, each QMC incorporates vital built-in signal feed and power protection features.
Ten Sports' Q128-SV router, configured as 116 x 100 and installed as the main station router, operates in SDI with embedded audio for distribution.
The QMC system is programmed to use the Q128 for upstream pre-selection and is controlled by an automation system. Four key layers are available in each QMC master control switcher, including an internal logo store option.
All key levels can be controlled independently under manual or automated control.
Colin Sherriff, VP Engineering at Taj Television, commented: "The QMC presents a perfect opportunity for us to begin with a highly capable entry-level unit that can be easily expanded to satisfy our future needs.
"Optional additions for the QMC include up to three levels of keying, logo store, integrated Digital Video Effects (DVE) and analogue audio options.
"The QMC is also fully compatible with the third party automation system that we've chosen."
