Delicious Sound Boosts Doctor Who

Leading music house Delicious Digital is celebrating on screen success and a strong start to 2010.
BBC Television and Red Bee Media chose Delicious Digital to compose the soundtrack for the brand new Doctor Who promos that aired on Saturday night for the first time.
They also accompany the 3D cinema promos that will run during March.
Delicious Digital has also been busy working on the new BBC 1 EastEnders ident to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the soap.
Red Bee Media Creative Director James Spence commented: "Two of the largest recent BBC projects of 2010 are the EastEnders 25th Anniversary campaign and the launch of the New Doctor Who.
"For both we created big, bold campaigns that needed music to match. For EastEnders we needed music for the ident and for Doctor Who we needed music for the TV and cinema launch trails. These were incredibly complex briefs.
"For EastEnders the music needed to echo the famous theme while being both original and celebratory. We wanted the music to interweave hints of the original theme and it had to include the three note mnemonic constant to all BBC One idents. It also had to build and leave the audience on a high to match that of the big visual reveal."
Spence added: "For Doctor Who the music needed to fit an incredibly dramatic trail that was bold, energetic and modern, and that included an array of some of the Doctors greatest foes. It had to appeal to young and old alike and tell a story with a powerful narrative arc all in 60 seconds."
Delicious Digital were invited to pitch on both, and were successful on both occasions. Throughout both jobs they were incredibly collaborative and made what can be a tricky process into a truly enjoyable one. Most importantly, their compositions didn't just fit the films. They brought them to life.
Other projects include a bespoke composition for the new BFBS News, a brand new music package for the popular 5 Gum Mixer (Wrigley's augmented reality project) and three scores for Zinc Films documentaries for National Geographic channel.
