Sonic introduces AuthorScript Music SDK for online music providers and audio software developers

Sonic Solutions, the world leader in DVD and CD creation software, has announced the release of its AuthorScript Music SDK.
Specifically tuned to satisfy the demands of the booming online music service market, the newest version of Sonic’s industry-leading Software Development Kit (SDK) for CD and DVD creation delivers over forty music-specific capabilities and includes Sonic’s exclusive SilentSelect technology for instantly enabling new CD and DVD recording drives without the need for field software updates.

The AuthorScript Music SDK is based on Sonic’s industry-leading DVD and CD formatting and burning technology, which has been licensed by premier application developers and PC OEMs including Adobe HP, IBM, Microsoft, Sony, Philips, Time Warner and many others. Time Warner was the first major music service provider to rely on the AuthorScript engine to build robust burning capabilities into its music player.
With its clear API (application programmer’s interface), well documented code, and intuitive architecture, the AuthorScript Music SDK allows third-party developers to integrate, test and deploy audio and music burning in their applications, typically in less than four engineer-weeks.
