Strongroom Post and Bunch collaborate on Club TV’s new idents |
|
Shoreditch-based postproduction facility Strongroom Post has completed the audio sound design for a series of 13 idents for Club TV, a European cable TV channel owned by Zone Vision.
The idents were directed by Jo Kotas, (formerly in Promos at the BBC) who is part of Bunch, a multi-disciplinary design collective with offices in London, Zagreb and Singapore. In total, Bunch conceptualised and designed eight sub brand and five generic idents, which were brought to life using their in-house 3D and 2D animation facilities. As well as animation and direction, Bunch supplies branding, web design and print services.
“We delivered them mute to Strongroom, where sound designer Benje Noble, assisted by dubbing mixer Ade Pressley, added their audio input,” Kotas said. “The audio had to be perfect and we trusted Strongroom to do the job well. Benje was given a fairly open brief, particularly for the generic idents, and he did a fantastic job – everyone was delighted with the results.”
Kotas adds that using a facility just round the corner from Bunch’s offices was another incentive.
“I’m a firm believer in supporting local businesses and it was really nice to be able to pop in and see how work was progressing, something we couldn’t have done if we’d used a Soho-based audio post facility,” she said.
Zone Vision is a leading international broadcaster and distributor of thematic television channels around the world, including Club, Reality TV, Europa Europa, Romantica and most recently, The Horror Channel.
The idents for Club are designed to reflect its modern and feminine brand image. Aimed at women in the 18 to 40 age range, Club is broadcast in 20 countries across Europe and in nine different languages. It features a variety of programmes made by women, for women, including talk shows, dating shows, health programmes, DIY and 'Real Lives' Club, which "has its finger on the pulse of everything women always wanted to know but never dared to ask".
Strongroom Post showcased the completed Club idents, along with other recent work, at the official launch of Strongroom’s new picture editing facilities, which took place at the end of June. Strongroom Post now offers both off-line and on-line video editing, including on-line finishing on the industry standard Avid Symphony.
Strongroom clients can also access affordable HD on-line, SD on-line and multi-cam off-line on Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD, plus Apple’s Final Cut Pro HD v 5, which is fast becoming an industry standard HD finishing tool and editing platform. For Audio Post, Strongroom offers 5.1 surround sound facilities in its Pro Tools-equipped audio suites.
