Strongroom Take Over Management Of Guillemots Studio

Recording and mix complex Strongroom has announced that it has taken over the management of a new studio in Bethnal Green.
Strongroom 33 offers a 1500 sq ft recording space with a vaulted church ceiling; plenty of room to accommodate even the most expansive set-ups.
The decision to take over the running of the studio came as a result of working closely with the band Guillemots, who converted the old synagogue into its current form for the recording of their recent album, Red, in conjunction with AIR Studios' engineers and technical team.
AIR Management's Adam Noble, Co-Producer and Engineer, commented: "What I aimed to provide for the band was the same quality of recording they would get from a big studio such as AIR, but within their own flexible environment where they could take their time experimenting and recording (for months on end) without the pressure of a huge studio bill at the end of it. The input stage was the most important aspect in achieving this, featuring a great range of mics, mic amps and compressors. Being able to tailor mic press to suit the instrument is extremely useful."
"In addition to the main live area, the control room upstairs is a fantastic room for recording - allowing you to work in the same room as the band. The studio also features a few "interesting" nooks and crannies for recording in - most notably in the cargo lift. Most importantly, bands are comfortable in this environment, with no distractions and the freedom to experiment, they inevitably get great results."
Owner Richard Boote said: "It was the model that the band (Guillemots) used to record their album that attracted us. What they studio allowed them to do was use the space to write and record ideas in a relaxed, creative environment and then take these ideas and finish them in either AIR or Strongroom's Neve/SSL rooms, whilst also staying within budget. We believe that this route will be attractive to both emerging and established artists alike especially in these times where budgets are being slashed."
Strongroom 33 combines extremely spacious rooms with a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Artists can take advantage of the impressive technical facilities and when taking a break between sessions there's a large and comfortable lounge and kitchen. The studio is situated in a secure setting on the upper floors of a former synagogue; access is via cargo lift or shuttered doors at street level.
