Framestore CFC celebrate eight in a row at Emmys

Framestore CFC has been honoured once more at the 55th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards making it eight in a row for the company.

'Chased By Dinosaurs', the US title given to the two 'Walking With Dinosaurs' specials, which aired in the UK last Christmas, 'Land of Giants' and 'The Giant Claw', whose digital creatures and effects were created by Framestore CFC, received the award for 'Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour Or More)'.

The company was also nominated this year for the 'Outstanding Special Effects in a Miniseries' award for 'The Lost World'.

This is the fourth year in succession that the ‘Walking With…’ team have won the Outstanding Animated Programme award, as well as the Best Visual Effects category in 2000 - a total of five Emmys and two BAFTAS for the team. The award also marks the eighth successive year in which Framestore CFC has been honoured by the American Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, with a total of 11 Emmys going to the company since 1996.

A number of Framestore CFC staff attended the ceremony at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, and the award was accepted on behalf of the company by 'Chased By Dinosaurs' Director, Tim Haines.

Following on from the enormous success of these Emmy-winning shows, there will be three further 'Walking With Dinosaurs' specials airing under the umbrella title 'Sea Monsters', and hosted once more by Nigel Marven. They will be seen on the BBC in the UK later this year, and shortly thereafter in the US on the Discovery channel.

Framestore CFC's current project schedule also includes the films 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire', 'Troy' and 'Thunderbirds'.

The company's latest work ‘Love Actually’, Richard Curtis' directorial debut starring Hugh Grant as the Prime Minister, recently had its Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
