Grab Networks Announces European Debut Of Anystream Agility 2G At IBC 2009
A leading provider of automated video capture, indexing and multi-platform video content syndication, Grab Networks, has announced the European launch of Anystream Agility 2G, the next generation of automated video production and management solutions for digital video media, at IBC 2009 on Stand 1.C31.
Anystream Agility 2G enables users to rapidly transcode, manage and distribute content for broadcast and cable television, IPTV, broadband and mobile handheld devices.
Agility 2G builds on a new architecture that provides an industry-leading solution for scalability and performance with up to three times more throughput than previously available; unrivalled real time availability in the form of reliable, automated fall-over and recovery safeguards for mission-critical applications; and the transfer and preservation of optimum quality up to and including HD.
Additionally, Grab networks, in partnership with Digital Vision, has included with Anystream 2G the ability to perform high-speed, broadcast quality motion-compensated standards conversion within file-based workflows-providing a critical tool needed to deliver any format from a broadcast server on demand. Standards conversion has been a significant challenge in the video production world as content providers drive towards fully file-based workflows. Hardware-based alternatives to standards conversion disrupt file-based processing with baseband signal to signal workflows. Agility 2G delivers file-based motion vector compensation with no disruption to the workflow.
Microsoft VC-1 Internet Information Services 7.0 (IIS7) Smooth Streaming encoding is also now included in Agility 2G, extending its ability to provide a superior video experience across multiple devices. By combining Microsoft's acclaimed HD and live streaming technology with Grab Networks' automated video management and production platform, video producers and content owners can automatically encode video assets to the new Smooth Streaming platform. When implemented with Microsoft's Silverlight interactive experiences, users can make true high-definition (HD) video (1080p) video available to users on virtually any platform.
Grab Networks' EMEA Sales Director Garry Thompson said: "These new advancements, coupled with work we are already doing with major European content providers, are powerful incentives to look even closer at monetising content through multiple delivery channels."
Also featuring at IBC 2009 is Anystream Velocity's Modular Business Workflow and Distribution Connectors, which features frame accurate playlist assembly, Agility Integration, delivery connectors and profiles and status monitoring therefore enabling content providers and owners to customise on-demand workflows with a la carte options to further automate the creation and distribution of content. Based on rules for content rights , Anystream Velocity dynamically automates the production, packaging and publishing of video and metadata assets to mobile, web and TV platforms.
Grab Networks' product management team is also primed to discuss the grabMediaOS operating system. Scheduled for release in Europe and Asia in early 2010, English-language broadcasters can nevertheless use the grabMediaOS system immediately to automate online publishing of entire broadcasts in minutes through Grab Networks' innovative automated capture, clipping and metadata generation services.
