UTV Gives Away Video Content To Local Websites

UTV Everywhere is a new digital initiative offering UTV Player local content to Northern Ireland organisations for use of their websites free of charge.
The video content UTV is offering includes high quality local news, entertainment and archive clips, as well as its hugely popular local programmes such as UTV Live, Ultimate Ulster, The Seven Thirty Show and Lesser Spotted Ulster to bring a new dimension to local websites. This content is currently available on the UTV Player on: www.u.tv
Michael Wilson, Managing Director, UTV, said: "UTV has been part of the community in Northern Ireland for the past 50 years - informing, entertaining and captivating our audience. UTV Everywhere is about developing our relationship further with the online audience by giving our content away to websites to enhance their users' experience.
"UTV Everywhere is an innovative move by a well established public service broadcaster to place UTV firmly at the forefront of technological innovation - keeping pace with how the public is now watching content - where they want, when they want.
"Since we introduced the UTV Player to our website, traffic has increased dramatically, with one in four visitors now viewing programming online and that is set to grow further. I am confident that UTV Everywhere will enhance the online experience for users of our partners' websites, bringing up to the minute video content about Northern Ireland to the widest possible audience and further developing UTV's links with the communities we serve, wherever they are."
Nico Fell, e-Commerce Manager, UTV, said: "UTV Everywhere is a simple, effective sharing solution that will increase traffic and the duration of time spent by users on our partners' websites.
"We are quite literally giving our content away to other websites to improve the digital experience for their audiences. Our video clips are also available on almost any platform from PS3 to iPads and laptops to android phones and of course we intend to keep developing solutions for our content to be shown on new platforms as they emerge.
