MVR Signs Global TV Brand Mr Bean Exclusively

A leading specialist distributor of digital entertainment, myvideorights.com (MVR), has signed an exclusive deal with Tiger Aspect Productions to globally distribute and monetise Rowan Atkinson's Mr Bean.
This multiplatform agreement covers online, mobile and IPTV and myvideorights.com will handle all rights management online, including controlling clips previously uploaded to the web without authorisation.
MVR continues its work with independent production companies to distribute content to publishing platforms who are increasingly demanding safe and professionally-produced video to attract advertisers and users. Using digital finger printing tools myvideorights.com will monitor the content across the web and manage their rights. Not only does this technology enable myvideorights.com to prevent unauthorised distribution, but it also enables the profiling of online audiences based on real usage.
Ashley Mackenzie, Chief Executive Officer of myvideorights.com, commented: "Mr Bean is the most popular professional video content online, full stop. We are delighted to be working with Tiger Aspect Productions to manage their rights and start to capture some of the value this popularity is generating."
Katherine Senior, Executive Producer of Mr Bean, said: "When we decided to start to manager our rights online, myvideorights.com had the expertise we were seeking. As Mr Bean approaches his 20th anniversary we look forward to them creating new revenues for us."
Mr Bean - the series is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year, and is amongst the most popular comedy content online today. It has an immense international reach as the leading non-language global comedy series in the history of television.
Since its debut in 1990 in a live-action series comprising 14 half-hour programmes, Mr Bean has been sold in 245 TV territories worldwide. In 2002, Rowan Atkinson worked with animators to transform the live-action character into animated form in a series of 26 half-hour programmes, which along with the live-action series, are currently distributed in over 60 key territories worldwide.
