Art Electric supply dpsVelocity systems for Chart Show TV

Art Electric have supplied a pair of dpsVelocity systems as part of a contract to equip two studios for Chart Show TV.
The brief, to equip two purpose-built studios with video and audio capability and get them up and running in time for an extremely tight channel launch date of September 18, was given to Leitch dpsVelocity specialists, Art Electric.
The decision to go with Art Electric and their dpsVelocity based Electric Media systems was made after careful consideration of other leading digital video editing systems, but Macmillan was finally persuaded by Art Electric’s willingness to solve problems - particularly in relation to the provision of considerable amounts of storage - and their comprehensive approach that included design, supply, installation, configuration, on-site testing and training.
The core system for each studio was an Electric Media Workstation featuring the very latest version 8 of dpsVelocity, supported by 1.9TB of RAID storage on each workstation. The systems were designed to be easily up-graded and can accommodate the new dpsQuattrus card when it comes on-stream later this year.
Martin Spooner, Managing Director of Art Electric, said that the last few weeks had been a tough challenge. “But we’re there” he said, “We have a very happy customer and we wish Chart Show TV every success for their future.”
Art Electric has been providing customers service and support since 1985 and has become well known for the design and manufacture of its real-time broadcast quality digital video editing systems.
All of their systems are based on the hugely successful dpsVelocity video capture/playback cards.
