OmniTek Hails Success Of TQ-Lite Monitoring System At NAB

Innovative test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek has hailed the success of its entry-level HD/SD waveform monitor and data analyzer - the TQ Lite - with dozens of systems shipped to major US broadcasters since launch at last year's NAB.
Roger Fawcett, OmniTek's Managing Director, said: "The OmniTek TQ Lite is based on the highly successful TQ system. It provides the same signal integrity checks and high precision video analysis capabilities as the full version, but it has been tailored specifically to meet the needs of broadcasters making the transition from SD to HD. The TQ Lite is therefore an extremely cost-effective package, which in today's financial climate is proving very popular with broadcasters across the globe."
The OmniTek system architecture - including the TQ Lite - is designed to be fully upgradeable via software alone. Fawcett said: "This is a major benefit to customers, as it enables them to start with the TQ Lite, then over time they can add a wide range of additional video, audio and metadata analysis functions as required."
The original OmniTek TQ system is tailor-made for broadcasters who need a comprehensive monitoring system for all their video, audio and metadata needs. It contains high-resolution waveform and vectorscope displays, full audio monitoring capabilities (including Dolby E metadata), audio/video delay measurements, error logging and MPEG macroblock detection.
The new TQ-Lite is a highly cost-effective version of the TQ, optimised for entry-level HD monitoring applications.
The TQ-Life system includes all the standard waveform monitoring functions such as YCbCr, RGB and Composite waveform displays, vectorscope and video status monitor, together with a high-resolution real-time proxy of the video input signal. The system is available in a 1RU rackmount chassis, and also as a PC plug-in card for maximum flexibility.
Advanced signal processing algorithms provide a flat frequency response at 10 bits per pixel up to 30MHz and 256x oversampling techniques are used to ensure the most accurate waveform displays.
The TQ Lite has a graphics display output that supports screen sizes up to 1920 x 1200 pixels, with the various monitoring windows shown in a quad-split arrangement.
Fawcett said: "In today's challenging marketplace, there is a real need for competitively-priced monitoring equipment that can still provide broadcasters with high accuracy measurements in all SD and HD video formats. We have been able to match this need with an unbeatable package of features, at an extremely attractive price, all in one product - the OmniTek TQ Lite."
