Jünger Audio Announces New Asian Subsidiary

Dynamics processing specialist Jünger Audio has established a subsidiary company in Singapore to supply equipment and provide technical support to Jünger Audio's expanding customer base in Asia.
Jünger Audio Asia, which was launched this month, will initially share premises with Sinagpore-based IPK Broadcast systems Ltd IPK, Jünger Audio's Asian distributor with whom it has had a close working relationship for more than five years.
The new company will have its own staff and will be headed by Kim Poh Tan, formerly director of sales and marketing at IPK, who has been appointed managing director.
Peter Pörs, managing director of Jünger Audio, said: "This is a significant development and one that represents our commitment to the Asian market. Approximately one third of our current business is carried out in Asia and, given the size of the territory and the number of countries it covers, we feel it is necessary to have a permanent base in the region. Jünger Audio Asia will allow us to respond to our customers much more effectively because we will be geographically on the spot."
Pörs added that Jünger Audio Asia will also forge alliances with other manufacturers to support their sales efforts in Asia.
He explained: "Many of the customers we supply require products from other manufacturers as part of their overall system integration needs. We anticipate working closely with these manufacturers and their suppliers to the benefit of everyone involved."
Founded in Berlin in 1990, Jünger Audio specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality digital audio dynamics processors for the professional audio market.
Its key product is Level Magic, a powerful automated audio loudness control system for production and broadcast. Capable of using any kind of I/O (Analog and Digital) sources, as well as SDI, HD/SDI, Dolby 5.1 and all its related metadata, Level Magic relies on a sophisticated adaptive level control algorithm that is designed to adjust the level from any source at any time, with no pumping, breathing or distortion.
It is based on a simultaneous combination of an AGC, a Transient Processor for fast changes and a "look ahead" Peak Limiter for continuous unattended control of any programme material, regardless of its original source.
Jünger Audio's customers include many of the world's top broadcasters, satellite companies and IPTV providers. In Asia alone, Jünger Audio has supplied products to Astro, MITV, TMNet and Best 104FM in Malaysia; SCV, Mediacorp and HBO Asia in Singapore; True, Virgin and Channel 7 in Thailand; TelkomVision in Indonesia; VCTV in Vietnam; ABS-CBN in the Philippines; TVB, TVBI, Cable TV, ATV, Star and Metro Broadcast in Hong Kong and China National Radio CNR, PRC.
As Managing Director of Jünger Audio Asia, Kim Poh Tan will use his extensive experience of the Asian market to generate new sales and support existing customers in the region. He will also be responsible for looking after Jünger Audio's existing distributor network and appoint new dealers in countries that are still open.
He explained: "One of Jünger Audio Asia's key roles will be to provide prompt support to our customers and distributors. We are living in a world that seeks immediate gratification and, as such, being close to our supporters and being in the same time zone will enhance all the effort that has already gone in to establishing Jünger Audio as an important manufacturer in the Asian market."
