Billy Connolly 'Taken To Book' By ITV
ITV Global Entertainment has announced new licensing opportunities for specialist book publishing, with brand extensions across the ITV season.
The announcement coincides with the launch of 'Billy Connolly Journey to the Edge of the World - The Book' at retail, published by Headline.
Billy Connolly Journey to the Edge of the World (sponsored by Standard Life) premiered on ITV 1 during February, achieving 4.7m viewers and a 20.2% winning share across the primetime slot.
Kevin Morgan, Content Director, ITV Global Entertainment said: "Successful book publishing has always played a central role in all our brand extensions, for both our ITV and independently produced programming.
"We're currently meeting with publishers to discuss new strategic licenses for our primetime and daytime shows across documentary, factual-entertainment, lifestyle, sport.
"The ITV Publishing strategy is led by heavyweight titles like Billy Connolly's Journey to the Edge of the World where the highest quality programming delivers brilliant book opportunities," he explained.
Recent book licensing successes for the ITV portfolio include Britain's Favourite View (Cassell Illustrated), Treasures of Coronation Street (Carlton Books), Heartbeat - The Story Behind the Series (Mortons), ITV Sport - Lewis Hamilton Formula One World Champion (Carlton Books), Martin Clunes A Dogs Life (Hodder), Numberjacks - six books published in 2008 (Egmont), The Official ITV Sport F1 Guide 2009 (Carlton Books), This Morning: Life Survival Guides (Hodder Education) and Trinny and Susannah (Orion).
