Finish Create A Cosmic Christmas For Littlewoods

Finish Post have helped to create a Christmas campaign for Littlewoods.
With Finish's Jason Watts in attendance, this epic Christmas campaign for Littlewoods was shot in Iceland over five days with an additional shoot day back in London.
Directed by Sara Dunlop at Home Corp, the post production started weeks before the shoot with tests to work out how the alien girls should move and if the desired light 'smear' effect would be shot in camera or created in 3D or 2D.
In the end, multiple plates of the girls were shot against black on location and then composited in Flame.
Finish's Mark Gregory added: "The Littlewoods commercial was a wonderful opportunity to create a pure computer graphics character with expressions and personality. The challenge was to make the alien/jellyfish look real. This was tricky as the creature was floating out of water, yet had to behave like something underwater and by paring back the photorealism we achieve a cuter version more appropriate for the campaign."
Every shot of the 50" commercial had sky replacements, parts of which were shot as light elements in a studio, with an additional 3D spaceship, presents & sparkly Christmas tree created and then composited in Flame.
