Second SSL Avant Plus for Mosfilm

Home to the Russian film industry for more than 70 years, the legendary Mosfilm have produced over 3000 films - garnering countless international awards for both features and short films for some of the world's most celebrated directors.
Mosfilm recently upgraded their original Avant digital film console, installed in 2000, to the 'Plus' configuration which incorporates HS processing to enable a number of powerful new features. The original 48-fader Avant console, in Studio A, has also now been joined by a second Avant Plus in an identical 48-channel configuration, installed during September in Studio B.
Some five years ago, Mosfilm embarked upon a major transformation to reverse its ailing financial situation. The studios, which extend to over 13,000 square meters, downsized their staff, rented out parts of their property and diversified from the core business of film making to service the ever-growing number of Russian TV channels.
Today, with the help of overseas investment, Mosfilm are profitable, and extremely popular with foreign crews due to the excellence of their facilities.
