'Sensing Murder' Continues With Success Beyond This World

Supernatural reality show 'Sensing Murder' is continuing its success around the world with new sales of the finished series to RTL in the Netherlands and TVN Norway.
Also, following its success with the first series, Nine Network Australia has acquired series two, it was reported by Karoline Spodsberg, International Director, Nordisk Film TV.
Produced in New Zealand by Ninox Television, the third season of 'Sensing Murder' in New Zealand recently opened to record numbers and has just been nominated for a range of awards at the Qantas Film and Television Awards to be held in September.
Additionally the format behind 'Sensing Murder' has just been placed in Russia, adding to the list of territories where it has been adapted, which now totals 11 countries to date.
The series follows psychics as they investigate murder cases which have already been closed by the police. The psychics are taken back to the scene of the crime and, by using clairvoyant skills, try to see what really happened many years ago.
New evidence found by the clairvoyants has lead to the police following up and in many instances re-opening cases.
The third season of 'Sensing Murder', which began airing last month on TV2 New Zealand has continued to rate even higher with a peak of 50%. The series now averages an astonishing 41% share, up from 38% of the first two seasons. It is the most popular show on TV2, which regularly has a 29% channel average.
'Sensing Murder' has received three nominations at the Qantas Film and Television Awards, to be held in Auckland next month, which celebrate the best in the New Zealand film and television industry.
The show will compete on the night for Best Format/Reality Series, Achievement in Original Music in General Television and Achievement in Sound Design in General Television.
'Sensing Murder' previously picked up two awards at the 2006 Qantas Television Awards - Best Reality Format and Best Director.
John McEwen, of Ninox Television, stated: "'Sensing Murder' has been a huge hit in New Zealand, it is the number one local show and fifth nationally. The third season has gotten off to a stupendous start, proving the show to be more popular than ever!"
Karoline Spodsberg commented: "'Sensing Murder' really has a universal appeal, because there are unsolved murders in every country. With the phenomenal success of the third season, the show has proven its longevity. We are currently in negotiations with a number of additional broadcasters keen to acquire rights to this fascinating show."
