Bournemouth to use SOFTIMAGE|XSI on MA course

The National Centre for Computer Animation (NCCA) at Bournemouth University are to exclusively use the SOFTIMAGE|XSI software for their MA Computer Animation course.
The NCCA made the decision to teach their students one 3D application only and Softimage’s industry leading 3D nonlinear production environment was chosen for this role due to its ease of use, combined with the most advanced and comprehensive feature set available in the industry.
Andy Hayes, tutor, MA Computer Animation, said: “Softimage have always maintained the lead in catering to animators, and they’ve continued to excel with the SOFTIMAGE|XSI software. It is the best package on the market for our needs.”
Due to the large amount of pure artists that had enrolled on the course who had no prior experience of using computers, one of the main pre-requisites for the choice of software at the NCCA was the systems interface. With one of the industry’s most user-friendly and intuitive interfaces the SOFTIMAGE|XSI system was seen as the ideal software for all students. In particular the NCCA highlighted the ease of use of the animation editor due to its visual appeal and simplicity.
