Voopa The Goolash Scores Major Success At Miptv

Voopa the Goolash, distributed by UK distributor The Production Team, proved to be a huge hit at Miptv last week.
'The Adventures of Voopa the Goolash' signed nine deals for territories, including Italy, Bulgaria and Russia.
MediaSet Italy, TV7 Bulgaria and Content Union Russia, were just a few names that signed deals for the first series of 13x22 shows for broadcast in September 2008.
The series, conceived in South Africa and produced in New Zealand, was written by Charles Hodges of Shaun the Sheep and Dennis the Menace fame.
Voopa the Goolash is an epic tale; a heroic story of paradise lost and regained with a powerful "ethos" at its core - infusing the audience with important and currently desirable values: care of the environment, respect for one another, the power of cause and effect and the ability to both create and destroy.
It is a compelling unique concept for children with 13 episodes already made and ready for broadcast with the intention of a further 26.
Joel Churcher, International Sales Director of The Production Team said: "Voopa the Goolash is an innovative unique show that provides something different for TV broadcasters and we are very excited at the deals we've signed with many more in the pipeline."
Nadia Kostova of TV7 said: "When I saw the trailer of Voopa the Goolash I was really impressed: it's extremely cute, funny and unusual.
"From what I saw, the script is witty, original and interesting. I believe the series has a great potential. Relying on my experience and intuition, I'm quite sure it will be a hit!"
Dmitri Pleshkov of Cinemax said: "I like Voopa as soon as I saw it and my son was also amazed when he saw him too. Voopa will be perfect for our territories."
