Bravo Names Jerry Leo as Senior VP of Programme Strategy & Acquisitions

US cable network Bravo has named Jerry Leo as the appointment to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Programme Strategy and Acquisitions.
The announcement was made by Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Bravo Media.
In addition to continued oversight of all programme planning and scheduling for the channel, Leo will now expand his responsibilities to include long-range planning across all platforms for the network and for acquisitions.
Mr Berwick said: "Jerry has been the architect of many of Bravo's creative scheduling strategies - pioneering the now often imitated show stacking and hand-off strategy for new shows. He is now bringing that creativity and passion, along with an encyclopedic knowledge of the competitive landscape to all our platforms."
Leo previously held the post of Vice President, Strategic Programme Planning & Scheduling since 2005 where he supervised all phases of programme planning for the channel including long range planning, scheduling of programmes, stunts on the network, and non-film acquisitions.
Working closely with the development and production departments along with the ad sales and research teams, he will be charged with maximising and integrating programming opportunities for the on-air, online and wireless platforms.
Prior to Bravo, Leo held a number of positions at VH1/MTV networks, most recently as Vice President of Programme Planning. In this capacity, he was responsible for scheduling all programmes, series, stunts, theme weeks and cornerstone events.
Prior to that, Leo was at MTV, where he was Manager of Programme Planning and Acquisitions after working in MTV's Production department, as a talent coordinator as well as in MTV's Series Development department.
Before his tenure at MTV Networks, Leo began his television career at NBC. He held the position of sales assistant at NBC's Prime Time and News Sales department, and also held positions in the Corporate Communications and Entertainment Programming departments.
Leo holds a B.S. degree in Television, Radio and Film Management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Currently available in more than 83 million homes, Bravo's programme list includes: 'Inside The Actor's Studio', 'Top Chef', 'Celebrity Poker Showdown' and 'Project Runway'.
