Unkle Rock With Sony XDCam Ex

Brixton Academy, the award winning live music venue in East London played host to British Trip Hop group Unkle on 1 March.
Production company Eleven Twenty Two used 5 Sony XDCam Ex camcorders to film the thrilling performance that brimmed with electronic rock and downtempo beats to an energetic and enthusiastic crowd.
Stunning graphics provided a visual treat for fans as the group pounded through their set and brought on guest singers Ian Brown, Badly Drawn Boy and The Duke Spirit.
The filming conditions proved very challenging with strobe lighting and harsh lighting to echo the groups blending of numerous genres and styles but Sony cameras were up to the job.
Bill Drummond, Sony product marketing manger, content creation said: "Demand for the products is better than expected, they have ticked a lot of boxes of what the customers have been looking for."
The cams come with two 16gb SxS memory cards that hold up to 140 mins footage, which will ease the filmmaking process and save crucial time.
Creative director of 11:22, Matt Jones said: "The cameras stand up to the big screen, the whole process is simplified, the cameras are portable and easy to use and eliminate the need for a laptop."
James Lavelle, one of the founders of the group alongside Tim Goldsworthy said: "The cameras will help the move away from big industry, individuals can film their own destiny. As this documentary will show, this is music in the modern age."
Filming of the sold out gig will be used to inter-cut the ongoing documentary 'The Man from Unkle' charting the history of Unkle from their roots in the early '90's trip hop scene to the present day live act. The gig will also be edited as a stand alone DVD, to be released separately or as a DVD extra.
The cameras will also be used to film extras for new Bond movie 'The Quantum of Solace'.
