Digital Video Systems (DVS) is offering the powerful DI workstation CLIPSTER with internal RAID-5 storage.

For more than five years DVS products have successfully been used by Groupe Transatlantic. Due to its growth Groupe Transatlantic improves its infrastructure with two additional CLIPSTER systems of DVS. Two subsidiary companies of Groupe Transatlantic optimize their workflows with the powerful combination of CLIPSTER and RAID-5.
The new CLIPSTER at Medialab Technology, specialist for commercial post production, is implemented as a high performance connection between two Spirit 2K Datacines, two Pandora Pogles and several Flame Linux HD workstations. The RAID-5 system, installed on CLIPSTER for the first time, protects all data against storage volume failures. Using CLIPSTER, the French post house benefits in particular from its real-time zoom and pan in real-time as well as VTR emulation. Medialab Technology will be able to react more flexibly on customer’s requests. The efficient realization of commercials is supported by the extremely high bandwidth of the DVS DI workstation.
Transatlantic Video, the second subsidiary company will also benefit from CLIPSTER’s real-time capabilities. The company is the leading service for movie restoration in France. As core of the restoration workflow CLIPSTER emulates a real-time VTR and captures telecine data, allocating them for immediate use. CLIPSTER efficiently supports failure detection and categorization as well as restoration via MTI Correct workstations and reliably provides the final quality check. Transatlantic Video’s valuable film material receives high-rated security by RAID-5, integrated in CLIPSTER.
