Films At 59 Upgrade Post Production Suite To OmniTek

OmniTek has announced that Films At 59 has upgraded one of its post production suites with an OmniTek XR as part of a rolling programme of improvements to the post house’s state-of-the-art facilities in Bristol.
The OmniTek XR will be used for image analysis and quality control on programming for a wide variety of clients including the BBC and Discovery Channel.
“We needed a system for both SD and HD,” said James Cawte, colourist at Films At 59. “We selected the OmniTek XR because is specifically designed for colourists and post production editors working in high-definition. For example, the quality of the displays are exceptional and allow us to focus on the creative element of colour grading, therefore providing the best service possible to our clients.”
The OmniTek XR offers users with a comprehensive monitoring system that is compatible with all regular SD and HD formats. This enables detailed analysis of the colourimetry and gamut of the specific material being processed.
In addition, The OmniTek XR has a number of unique features not available on any other monitoring system, such as "extreme resolution" waveform and vector displays for total image analysis; real-time colour histogram displays in a variety of different gamuts; support for all 2K and dual-link input formats, with user-programmable LUTs to correct for non-linear inputs; support for 'XYZ' colour space inputs for users working in digital cinema.
“The new v2.0 software revealed for the first time at IBC this year takes the XR even further,” said Roger Fawcett, business director of OmniTek. “With features such as vectorscope zoom, split-mode waveform magnification, and full-resolution video proxy the system is already proving particularly popular with high-end post-production facilities across the globe.”
