Chyron Corporation Announces Sale Of Two HyperX HD/SD-Switchable Graphics Systems To Gems TV
Chyron Corporation has announced that Gems TV, an integrated manufacturer and television home-shopping retailer of coloured gemstone jewellery, has purchased two Chyron HyperX HD/SD-switchable graphics systems for its Reno, Nevada, US facility.
Gems TV, which already owns and operates two dedicated jewellery home-shopping channels, GemsTV and GemsTV2 in the UK, will use the HyperXs as part of its new US launch to display on-screen graphics necessary for its interactive falling-price game format. They will be controlled from a bespoke game controller application over an automated Telnet protocol.
Clive Bryant, Chief Operational Officer, Gems TV commented: "We purchased the units for our US launch because our current platform is PAL only. We short-listed two graphics solutions and decided to go with Chyron for a number of reasons. These included the system's HD/SD-switchable capabilities; future developments and new features; good worldwide support; improved 3D text and texture treatment; and easy interface for automation."
Kevin Prince, Chyron's Chief Operating Officer added: "We are delighted to announce this sale to Gems TV. The HyperX is powerful system that can be used in a number of applications from home-shopping to live broadcast news and sports."
The station will broadcast on the DirecTV satellite platform to over 15 million homes across Central and South America.
