Trio of talented students from the South West sought for £3k industry bursary

Help is at hand for creative people from the South West to take up post graduate study before entering the film and TV industry.
South West Screen's industry-backed Post Graduate Bursary Fund will make three awards of £3,000 each to talented and highly motivated students for whom cost might be a barrier to taking up a post graduate media course.
A panel of senior industry members will select the three award winners, who must be looking to attend a post graduate course with Skillset accreditation and/or industry approval. Although the applicant must be from the South West, the actual course can be anywhere in the UK.
Creative people underpin creative businesses and unfortunately there are still many occasions when it is money and not talent that enables people to grow and develop their skills. South West Screen believes that bursaries offer a practical way of supporting high-calibre graduates in giving access to quality vocational education prior to entering the media industries.
Caroline Norbury, Chief Executive of South West Screen said: "We're looking for the kind of people who will take maximum advantage of post graduate study to develop their ideas and talents and who know where they're going in terms of a career in film and TV. If we invest in their future now, it will not only benefit them in the longer term, but the industry as a whole."
Visit South West Screen's website www.swscreen.co.uk for further details and to apply.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 13 October 2006.
