Europe's first eQ FX for ACT Video

ACT Video, one of the leading post houses in Cologne, Germany, has purchased the new Quantel eQ FX, which had its world premiere at NAB 2006.
The new top of the range eQ is an all-in configuration designed specifically for post and broadcast users who need a great value, high-specification system that will meet every demand in HD and multi-resolution post production. The first project for ACT’s eQ FX will be the 'On air' promotion for Germany's broadcaster Westdeutschen Rundfunks (WDR) as well as HD productions for other customers.
ACT offers a full service from editing to graphics/VFX and streaming, and prides itself on using the latest technical and creative advances for each project. The Cologne post house has been responsible for WDR's trailer production for many years, which until now has been successfully produced on their Editbox and Henry.
In order to achieve full compatibility with WDR's newly installed eQs and to be fully equipped to handle HD productions, ACT decided on the newest editing system in the eQ range. ACT's eQ FX, equipped with 4.5 hours HD storage, offers the perfect production workflow and will assist their existing Quantel iQ with a growing number of HD projects.
“We have used Quantel systems for many years now,” said Robert Gross, Chief Executive of ACT Video. “In order to work hand in glove with WDR for its 'On air' promotions we decided to expand our editing department with an eQ FX. The integrated TimeMagic technology offers us a perfect workflow and will support our existing iQ.”
Also ACT has invested in an HDCAM-SR 'SRW-5500' to optimize its iQ 4:4:4 workflow.
