ITV2 AND NTL AGREE CARRIAGE TERMS
ITV2 is to become available across ntl franchises from this autumn in a deal that completes the channel’s UK cable distribution.
From Friday 8 September ntl’s digital customers in England and Wales will be able to view ITV2 on channel number 117 as part of the basic entry level package. ITV2 carriage on the cable networks formerly owned by cable and wireless will also continue as part of the deal
Andrew Chowns, ITV2’s commercial director, said: “This deal is great news for ITV2, as well as for ntl’s subscribers. This autumn ntl viewers will now be able to enjoy great entertainment including live UEFA Champions league matches, the Latin Grammy Awards, Cold Feet, Coronation Street and Inspector Morse on ITV2”
Launched on 7 December 1998, ITV2 now has almost 3 million subscribers on both ONdigital and cable in England and Wales.
