Root6 sign up to deliver UK software-only versions of Media Composer

Root6 has announced that following the NAB introduction of Avid’s new software-only application of its Media Composer family, the UK-based reseller has placed the first order for 20 systems.
Available for Mac and PC laptops or desktops, with a range of flexible configurations for those who require hardware acceleration, the new Media Composer family also delivers a breakthrough for collaborative media production environments by offering workflow-intelligent tools that connect directly to the Avid Interplay engine, also launched at NAB.
“Media Composer is the NLE by which others are judged,” said John Harris of root6. “This introduction will empower current and aspiring editors with a benchmark toolset that has never been more affordable. Furthermore, the integration with the new Avid Interplay engine will offer significant productivity advantages to many of our clients working in collaborative production."

Software-only versions of Media Composer and Mojo with SDI will be available to order from root6 immediately with first delivery’s in June.
